Remember the movie, The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey? A movie titled The Wedding Photographer may be a savvy sequel.
And St. John based Constance Wallace, could play herself in the real life lead.
Wallace has been photographing weddings for the past decade at a speed that eclipses the national divorce rate.
You can tell photographs of a Wallace wedding because they're much more than just still pictures.
They capture the essence of family relationships and often a rare moment - due to her intuitive timing and eye for intimacy.
Wallace, who has also developed a reputation for her natural photographs of flower and creative collages, is passionate about weddings. She represents a new breed of wedding photographers who are actually photo journalists, chronicling a fast moving action oriented event.
This sort of photography, according to Wallace, is all timing, eye and especially feel.
She says photographing weddings in this style is a job for an artistic, deeply feeling, acrobat with unusual stamina, foresight, a knack for remembering names, and a good sense of humor.
Wallace loves working with prospective brides, grooms and their families, and relishes the preparation she believes is necessary to get the shots of a lifetime.
She says it's one day, but the photos last forever.
Wallace, who could be called a practical romantic confides the favorite part of her wedding work is the time spent with the bride and groom after the family and wedding party's formal portraits are done. She says it is always in a very beautiful place and they have a chance to really look at each other. And she's thre quietly snapping the moment- to be shared with people not yet born.
