Blue Horizons Garden Resortin Grenada is combining the growing appeal of adventure travel with a Caribbean honeymoons, via an active romance package, complete with island aphrodisiacs and an expedition into the lush tropical rainforest.

The resort features 32 spacious accommodations in superior studio and deluxe one-bedroom suite categories; the gourmet restaurant La Belle Creole, serving continental cuisine with a West Indian flair; a freshwater swimming pool; activities lounge; and centrally-located poolside bar.

A Green Globe Benchmarked property, Blue Horizons has an aviary for tropical birds with 21 different species inhabiting the grounds. Birds that can be found on property include the Barn Swallow, the Violet Eared Dove, the Tropical Mockingbird, the Broad-Winged Hawk and the Lesser Antillean Bullfinch.

Arnold Hopkin, owner and manager of Blue Horizons says the resort wants to provide honeymooners with a value-oriented vacation in the tropics, draw two distinct niche markets – honeymoons and soft adventure.

Hopkin says Blue Horizons should appeal to newlyweds looking for a moderately-priced honeymoon, without sacrificing the privacy and majestic scenery that many new couples seek on this special vacation.

A recent honeymoon package at Blue Horizons Garden Resort included

• Accommodations in a deluxe one-bedroom suite with kitchenette,

• One dinner for two at La Belle Creole restaurant;

• A romance adventure tour that takes honeymooners along the southeast ridge of the island. Stops include historic Fort Frederick, Bay Gardens (featuring palms, TropicalAmerican trees and decorative, ornamental and foliage plants), Morne Gazo ( a one mile, nutmeg shell-covered trail in an undisturbed rainforest), and De La Grenada Herb & Spice Factory;

• Non-motorized watersports including snorkeling, kayaking and sailing with Hobie cats plus use of beach chaise lounges – available at Spice Island Beach Resort, a short walk away on Grand Anse Beach;

• Golf at Grenada Golf Club;

• Welcome drink.
